The 30 Day Challenge...

I needed to change up my workout a bit (and I also needed to do more than a mile or two on the treadmill every once in a while), so I busted out the Wii Fit and EA Active and got to work (ps.  Thanks Mom for buying it for me last summer!).
I don't know if anyone has ever played this, but it is pretty fun and its preset workouts alternate between cardio and strength training.  Granted, it is pretty low impact, but it is something a little different than running on the treadmill like a gerbil, which I am still a fan of (sometimes).  Anywho...there is a 30 day challenge which I have yet taken the time to complete...actually, I get like 5 days in and then slack and don't finish.  But, this time is different...I'm putting it in writing!  I am going to complete the 30 day challenge (and still incorporate a mile or two a day on the treadmill and elliptical) within 30 days, and we'll see if it actually makes a difference.

So, why am I doing this? I've been a bit lax about actually keeping up a fitness plan...I didn't keep up with the couch to 5K, I have a Wii Fit, a treadmill, and an elliptical that sometimes don't see me for weeks...in a nutshell, I have all the resources, but lack the drive to just go out and do it.  But I LOVE to do it, but it is just getting there that is all the difference.  And yes, I have a certain goal, but I'm too new to the blog world to actually throw that number out to the world, but I have some goals in mind for 2011 and I'd like to be physically fit by the time summer gets here, and definitely before my birthday and Matt's big birthday at the end of the year.  It isn't necessarily about losing weight (which is nice), but I'd like to be healthier all around, so getting fit is part of it (ha! Rhyme high five!).

So for 30 days...it's on!  I'll report back every week or so (if I can remember to blog!).  Wish me luck!!
