Things I love...The Zoo

If you don't know, which you probably do, I LOVE the zoo.  Love it.  Could go there every week.  It's 3 miles of walking in the fresh air, it has giraffes, it has people watching, and it has monstrous catfish you can feed dog food (for a quarter).  Now don't give me any grief about captive animals, I'll make some notes about rescued animals below.

Last weekend, Matt's mom was in town, so we of course had to go to the zoo.  And it was GORGEOUS outside. And I got to play with my super duper zoomie lens on my new camera.  Here are some highlights.

Yeah, that's a duck butt.

Matt's favorite part - the grizzly bears (Will and Wiley).  Their mother was shot by a hunter and they were rescued as cubs.  I think they are like 7 or 8 years old, maybe a little older.  We've seen them grow up at the OKC Zoo.

And this guy, though I don't really fancy birds, was squawking like crazy, and you can see he only has one wing (he was either shot or hit by a truck).  He has a one-winged buddy with him.

I LOVE this picture.  Just chillin' in a tree...

And the baby!  I couldn't get a great picture because the stinker wouldn't stay still.  Big surprise...

Check out my new Valentine's shades.  Forget flowers!

Check out the ice in the background.  70 degrees outside, practically ice covered pond.  Only in Oklahoma.
