There would be a tornado while Matt is in Honduras...

I'm at work today, and we have some storms and some sirens.  Normal Oklahoma May weather.  The satellite at works goes out, so we pull out the weather radio - with a crackly connection.  So I pull up KFOR.com (I think) with a live feed of the news. Then Mike Morgan says "the 'hook echo' is over downtown Moore and Moore High School.  The tornado is right there." Ugh!  That is like 4 blocks from my house!!!!!  So I'm a bit distraught, but they never mention my street, so I'm not worried.  So I hurry home, since my pups are inside (LUCKY!) and this is what I see ::

Right side of the addition ::

Left side of the addition (there should be fences behind all of these houses) ::

Houses further to left (note the missing fences) ::

First house on the left of our addition ::

So I pull up to my house and this is what I see.  I am so lucky that we just had minimal damage to our roof and fence ::

Matt's grill - I have yet to take the cover off to see the damage ::

Bo checking out some debris on the side of the house (including a saw horse and the lid to someone's garden storage) ::

I don't know what this is, but there are three of them in my yard, none of which belong to my house.  So glad the dogs were inside ::

Busted fence ::

The shed is still standing, but basically destroyed ::

That piece of metal and the roof vents (or whatever that is) do not belong to us ::

Who really needs a front door on their shed ::

If you'll notice, the dog's water is in the middle of the yard ::

This fence should be straight ::

Some fence on our roof ::

Some fence in our yard ::

This is a shingle that was lodged between the tired and the back of the wheel well of Matt's Suburban ::

Now - you see that we have very little damage.  Probably our roof, shed, and fence will need to be partially or completely replaced.  More of an inconvenience than anything else and I am so lucky that the dogs were inside and our home was safe.  Now here are some pictures around the neighborhood ::

The house across the street (there should be a fence there) ::

A neighbor's house (missing fence) ::

All of the windows of this van were broken out ::

This is a FULL storage shed on top of an above ground pool ::

A stop sign snapped in two ::

Another destroyed fence ::

This isn't a great pic, but the entire back picture window was ripped out (as well as their front windows too) ::

All in all, lots of roof and fence damage across the neighborhood, but luckily nothing like what has happened in years past.  Thank you LORD for keeping my home and my neighbors safe!  We are so lucky that we had such little damage and that I have such good friends (Jimmy and Jackie) that came and helped me clean up!

Happy May everyone!
